HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center has earned its first national recognition in Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery in U.S. News & World Report's 2026–2027 Best Hospitals rankings. The hospital also ranked No. 9 in Texas and No. 4 in the Houston metro area for the specialty Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery. HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center also earned High Performing ratings in seven procedures and conditions, the highest distinction awarded by U.S. News & World Report in those areas of care, including aortic valve surgery, colon cancer surgery, heart arrhythmia, heart failure, kidney failure, pneumonia and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). This is the highest distinction a hospital can earn as part of U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.

Fewer than half of the thousands of hospitals evaluated earned a 'High Performing' designation in the types of care evaluated by U.S. News.

U.S. News’ annual Procedures & Conditions ratings are designed to assist patients and their health care providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

"Our first national High Performing adult specialty recognition in Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery, along with our specialty rankings in Texas and the Houston metro area and expanded High Performing recognitions, reflects the outstanding work of our physicians, nurses and colleagues across the organization," said Robert Sabina, CEO of HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center. "These recognitions highlight the quality of care our teams provide every day and inspire us to continue raising the bar for the patients and communities we serve.
